“Old versus New architecture” - photography challenge

The contest is suitable for photographers who wish to participate by submitting their inspiring photos on the topic. This can be photographs showing architectural trends in the past and present.

Past and Present on focus

The architecture is all around us, so it is very popular photographic subject. This is a topic that covers everything from skyscrapers to small houses. Almost everywhere we go, we are surrounded by some type of architecture.

The idea of confrontation of classic versus modern construction can be applied in different places. One of the easiest ways to find objects to present the topic is in town. In most cities, new buildings and objects are increasing around the old one all the time. So you will not need to look far to find a convenient location that makes it possible capturing something new and something old in a frame.
At the heart of your town or village, perhaps will be most easily. Look for places with old architecture that is near or against modern, made of metal and glass.

The question whether to include the surrounding area in the frame, depends on the situation and the message you want to convey. Ask yourself whether if you put the subject in context, this would increase or detract from the image. If the landscape complements the subject well, but if the surroundings do not fit with the message you want to convey, you can safely crop them.
You should not limit yourself to only shoot of buildings on the topic. In fact, most man-made facilities are appropriate: buildings, bridges, towers, monuments, and even streetlights.
