Description

Hello, I would like to introduce you the “Allard Prize Photography Competition”. The contest is open for all participants internationally and invites photographers to submit their best works. The bi-annual competition, recognizes photography excellence reflecting the ideals of the “Allard Prize”, is judged by the “Allard Prize Committee” with professor Maxe Fisher plus “Dynamic Media” and Emily Carr. Photographers are encouraged to submit entries, that reflect themes of "courage" and "leadership" in "fighting corruption". Especially through promoting: transparency; responsibility; the rule of law; and human rights/anti-corruption. The contest also particularly welcomes entries that depict corruption and human rights violations in the developed world. Each winning photograph, will receive CAD $1000 and will be featured on the “Allard Prize” website, with a brief description and the entrant's name, for 6 months. Winners will be archived, as a past winners on the website of the organizators. Winners are selected twice a year, shortly following the submission deadlines of 1 May and 1 November. Winning pictures are announced on “Allard Prize” galleries page and promoted on social media channels too. Winning this photo competition, can give the entrants a good start in their careers. The Competition is only open to individuals who have reached the age of majority in their country of residence at the time of entry (“Entrants”).

Members of the Allard Prize Photography Competition Jury, the Allard Prize Committee and the Allard Prize Advisory Board are not eligible to participate during their terms as Jury, Committee or Advisory Board members and for one year following the end of their terms.

Photographers are encouraged to submit entries, that reflect themes of "courage" and "leadership" in "fighting corruption". Especially through promoting: transparency; responsibility; the rule of law; and human rights/anti-corruption.

The contest also particularly welcomes entries that depict corruption and human rights violations in the developed world.

Copyright and Usage Rights:

3 (a) Photographs that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible.

6 (a) By entering this Competition, each of the Entrants agrees that if he or she is one of the winners, he or she represents and warrants to UBC that he or she owns the photograph(s) and other works forming part of his or her Entry, and has the right to enter into this Agreement and to grant to UBC the licenses and other rights contemplated herein

6 (b) By entering this Competition, each of the Entrants agrees that if he or she is one of the winners, he or she shall and does hereby grant to UBC a perpetual, assignable, non-exclusive, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the photograph(s) and other works forming part of his or her Entry on the Allard Prize website and in printed and other materials relating to the Allard Prize and, in that regard and without limitation, to scan, copy, modify and create derivative works of such works.
