Description

Hello, I would like to present you the 21st “Luis Valtueña Humanitarian Photography Award”. This is an international contest, open for both professional and amateur photographers from all over the world. Paying entry fee is not required to enter the contest. All you have to do is submit your image. You can enter in the competition online, by clicking the green button "Join" in the top right corner. The “Luis Valtueña Humanitarian Photography Award" has been initiated to denounce the bad situation of people in our World and bring attention to violation of human rights, social exclusion, armed conflicts, natural disasters and even immigration. Particiapants over 18 years of age can enter the contest. Winning this competition, can give the entrants a good start in their careers. Participate in online competitions to develop your professional portfolio and win prizes. Along with the winning entries, the organizers from "Médicos del Mundo" will select other photos from all participants to create exhibition that can be seen from wide audience. Each entrant is welcome to submit maximum of 10 photos, which can be distinct or part of a series. Only photographs taken between January 2016 and October 2017, which have not been previously entered will be accepted. The winner will receive 6000 Euros grant to develop a photo project made from at least 50 photographs and a 30 min. video shoot, related to the work of the organizers of the contest, whether in Spain or in other countries. This is a perfect opportunity for participants to show their skills and great work.

The winner will receive a project grant of 6000 euros (amount before tax, which depends on the winner’s nationality and situation) to develop a photography project composed of at least 50 photos and a 30 minute video shoot related to the work of MdM-Spain, whether in Spain or in other countries where the organization is undertaking humanitarian action or international cooperation programs.

The winner together with MdM-Spain will define the objectives and the development of the project, taking into account common interests and the operative security conditions related to possible destinations.

The amount of the grant should cover all expenses needed to develop the project. Once the project’s terms are settled, MdM-Spain will not demand an account of those expenses.

The grant will be given in three parts: 50% after the judges’ decision, 25% when the project starts and the remaining 25% when the project concludes. The photo project will have to be finished before the 15th December 2017.

Photographs must be sent in *JPEG format via WeTransfer. The digital images must not bear any mark identifying the entrant. The images will be sent by E-mail with the subject line: XXI PREMIO LUIS VALTUEÑA + ENTRANT’S NAME AND SURNAME Along with the photographs, entrants must ALWAYS submit a completed entry form downloadable.

In compliance with Spanish Organic Law 15/1999 on the Protection of Personal Data and its complementary regulations, MdM-Spain advises that participants’ personal data sent with their application, including their email address, will be incorporated into a file for processing purposes, which remains the property of the association.

The purpose of this data collection and processing is to facilitate the development of the competition and to enable us to contact you if you are one of the winners according to competition rules.
