FanStory has been helping writers of all skill levels to get feedback for their writing and become a part of an online writing community. It represents an unparalleled source of writing tips, challenges and contests. In terms of the latter, FanStory is now organizing a Free Verse Poetry Contest open to writers worldwide.

It offers a cash prize to all writers who can come up with any kind of written poem, regardless of structure or style.

General rules

To enter you should write a free verse poem. This is a method of writing poetry, which does not essentially follow any structure or style. There is no fixed meter and no structure regarding rhyme and lines in each stanza.
Example of free verse poetry is:
I celebrate myself, and sing myself,And what I assume you shall assume, For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you. I loaf and invite my soul, I lean and loaf at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.
