This high Himalayan farmer continues to use a wooden plough made by him and shaped according to the height of his bullock, and his comfort. When the job is over, at the end of the day, his bullock does not find it difficult to carry it home on its shoulder. Such farmers are self reliant and not at the mercy of the market middlemen, and transporters who burn up fossil fuel to deliver, or fail to deliver on time alternate material made ploughs. Wooden ploughs are made from trees that produce the best wood for the job: mostly available in the village forest.
