This photo, taken during the wild fires in the summer of 2017 in British Columbia, Canada, shows a stunningly beautiful waterscape, but elsewhere in the province, there was devestation. The location of the photo is English Bay, Vancouver, BC. News reports stated that with 894,491 hectares burned since April 1, "B.C. is now facing its worst-ever wildfire season." The unprecedented year saw 1,029 fires start across the province, costing $315.7-million as of August 17, 2017. According to the chief wildfire information officer, that year was "far and away the worst we’ve ever seen in terms of the hectares burned".
