An abbot looks out for novices to start a daily lesson in Shwe Yaunghwe monastery near Nyaungshwe, Myanmar. This is one of the few surviving teakwood monasteries in Myanmar - mostly neglected, those 100-200 years old monuments fall into disrepair one by one, to be eventually replaced by modern concrete structures. Most of them, including Shwe Yaunghwe, feature intricate woodcarving that slowly rots away...
