Exloo, in Drenthe, is a charming village of thatched Saxon farmhouses, famous for its sheepfold and heathland sheep.
Photo is made during the annual ‘Op de Kloeten’ Festival in the Drenthe province in the very northeast of The Netherlands. This event is defined by customs, traditions and an abundance of scenic Drenthe folklore around 1900 from the area of the village Exloo.
There is a lot of history In this countryside, numerous peasants and their traditions could be found.
But, today in Drenthe there are still people wearing the Dutch wooden clogs. Farmers and gardeners, mainly. They like the safety they provide, and that they are waterproof
