Mangrove trees play an extremely important role in the life cycle of various fish species. They provide shelter, nursery and hatchery protection for fishes until they grow ensuring abundant fish harvest. They also protect the land from typhoons and other monsoon anomalies. The preservation of all growth of mangrove forests is currently being threatened because of the conversion of mangrove forests into commercial fish ponds. This picture shows a young elementary school student planting Mangrove as an assignment after his teacher made a lecture of its importance.
