The Krui community, located on the western coast of Lampung, is heavily dependent on 'hundreds years' trees. Due to having a tap shape like a cat's eye, making this tree is called 'Damar Mata Kucing' in Indonesian. With the price of ten thousand rupiah per kilogram today, since the Dutch colonial era, Krui people never stop tapping sap only with the help of rattan, bucket, and 'kadukul' (sap tap). After two weeks being dried in the sun, the tapping results are collected for one month in the hope of obtaining high quality in greater quantities. Then the result is sold to middlemen in order to make a profit. Categories: Nature Photography |
