The environs of the Karabash copper smelter. For the entire time of the plant’s activity, there was no fine purification of waste gases from lead, copper, arsenic, and sulfur dioxide removal was completely absent. As a result, most of the Soimon valley was on the verge of ecological disaster. Every year, 150-200 tons of harmful substances were emitted into the atmosphere. For several decades, copper smelter wastes were directly dumped into the Sak-Elga river. Karabash city, Chelyabinsk region, Russia. 08/01/2018
