Tree stumps and clearcut areas are often visible in the landscape of Caras Severin, in Romania, a country which has lost up to a hundred million cubic metres of wood worth over the past two decades due to rampant illegal logging. We depend on forests so we must ensure that they remain a renewable resource for generations to come by cutting fewer trees down and by harvesting wood in a sustainable way.
