Every year, in June or July, Lord Jagannath of Puri temple, Odisha, India comes out and travels with his brother and sister to his aunt's place on wooden chariots. Pilgrims in millions gather to see this spectacle and perhaps get to touch the ropes that are used to pull the Chariots. The chariots are made of a specially hard wood of the locally known Fasi tree. In this picture, pilgrims who have come to the town early are seen worshipping one wooden chariot and seeking blessings of the Lord. Rath Jatra, as the event is known is one among the most monumental cultural and religious events in India's life.
