  • 3. Select contest plan & click the button ‘Create’

If you choose any of the contest plans, you will have the fast creation of contests and you need to read carefully the parameters which will be fixed for you.

For using all the options such as announcing awards, you need to use the self-service software by clicking the button ‘Create Custom Contest’.


In order to create a working custom contest, you need to carefully fill in all the data.

STEP 1: Basic Info
1 Entry Fee

Point out if there will be any entry in order to join your contest.

Select between:

  • Free - no entry fee for your contest
  • Paid - you need to write in the field that will appear with how many WINGS (our virtual currency). If the award that you will give, will depend on the number of entry fees, this you need to fill in on Step 4 of contest creation.
2 Contest language

Choose an option between:

  • English
  • Bulgarian
  • Both

Depending on the languages that you chose on Step 1, p.II, you will see tab or tabs. If you have selected both languages, the tabs will be 2. The active one has yellow line on it. By clicking on the other, you will switch and be able to fill in the other data.

3 Availability
  • Region - Choose for which region your contest will be active. If you prefer it to be worldwide - keep the default option ‘All’
  • Gender - If the contest will be open only for men, select the ‘male’ option, for women - ‘female’. If both - keep the default option ‘All’.
  • Level - VOUBS users develop and level up after performance on the platform. If you prefer your contest to be for advanced VOUBS users, fill in number of the level that the person needs to be in order to take part. If you don’t have preference, keep the default ‘0’.
  • Max participants - select the how many people are allowed to take part in your contest
  • Max entries per participants - select limitation how many media one person can upload

  • Title - the name of the contest with max of 70 symbols
  • Contest purpose - select from the options whether this contest is meant only for fun or any other aim
  • Description - You need to present your contest topic with at least 200 symbols
  • Main cover image - Upload cover for your contest. Max size: 2 MB of file formats: *jpg,*png, *gif. Recommended size 1920px x 600px with few or no text
  • General rules - read VOUBS global rules for participants so you can add anything if you need at the next field
  • Additional rules - optional field if you have specific rules. Don’t forget to fill them in 2 languages if you are working on both as it is the last thing you need to fill in both in English & Bulgarian
4 Basic info final data
  • Allowed file types - tick which type of media users can upload
  • Expertise - select if your contest is meant for amateur, professional or anybody
  • Contest category - select from the 32 options if your contest is photography, painting, graphic design, etc.
  • Contest subcategory - here you can choose a few subcategories which will help the users select easier if the contest is for them or not.
  • Target community - select if you mostly wish participants from our photographers/ interior designers/ … community and we will take care your contest to be presented to them.
  • Sponsors - if your contest has any sponsors, you can include their name, upload their logo with recommended size of 200px x 200px and insert a link to their website The ‘Add new’ option allows you to show all the sponsors

STEP 2: The Contest Team
1 Contest Owner

You will be published on the contest page as the person who creates the contest. That’s why you see your profile picture here

2 Contest Admin

You will be the admin of your contest. You need to accept or reject the media uploaded.

If you expect a lot of media, it might be a good idea to add another Admin to help you. To do so: click on add administrator and then start writing the name of another VOUBS registered user. Then select the right person from the proposed to you.

Administrator rules are the rules to accept media that the admins need to follow. You can fill in the first by clicking on the ‘add new’. Filling in this info is optional.

3 Jury members

At this part of contest creation, you need to select:

  • - The number of the jury members s who will judge; if there will be no juries - select 0 from the drop-down menu
  • - The jury members by clicking on the question mark and writing his name. You need to select the right person from those proposed to you.
4 Ambassadors

A person well-known in the community or well-acquainted to the topic of your contest can be the ambassador of your contest. Select an influencer to popularize and be the face of your contest campaign.

The way to select is still the same like for administrator and jury - start typing the name and click on the right person.

STEP 3: Periods & Voting
1 Periods
  • First select the voting type - Jury, Public or Jury and Public. If you have not selected jury members on the previous step, only public option will be available for you.
  • Select from the fall-down calendar dates of registration begin & registration ends - these aren the dates during which your contest will be open for registration of participants. In the middle of these days you can see a calculator, showing you how many days the contest will be open.
  • Select the dates of voting public and/or jury. If above you have selected one of them, you will have to fill it in. If you have selected both, you have the option to make different time of voting.
  • Select winners’ announcement date - this date is the end of your contest when the winners will be surely published. It can be the same date as the end of the voting or some of the next days in order for you to have some time to verify one more time that the selected media on 1st place complies with all the requirements.
2 Ranking

Ranking is the current voting situation. Here is the place to define the ranking visibility. If you select ‘no’, the ranking will not be visible. If you select ‘yes’, then you need to define how many days before the end of the contest. If you select ‘all the time’ , the ranking will be constantly visible.

3 Voting

At this section, you need to select the voting weights. The ‘X points remaining for allocations’ shows you how much you need to separate between the options.
Remember that the weights are percentage so the sum of the voting types needs to be 100 points. There are:

  • Jury voting - if above on this Step 3, you have selected voting type public, you will not see it If it is there, no less than 1% weight is possible.
  • Public voting - if above on this Step 3, you have selected voting type jury you will not see it. If it is there, no less than 1% weight is possible.
  • WINGS voting - this is the weight that you need to choose for the additional voting paid by WINGS. Once rated a media, everybody can give more votes by using WINGS. That is why,no less than 1% weight is possible
STEP 4: Awards settings & publishing
1 Awards
  • Answer the question if there are awards:
  • If no, you are ready to save & publish your contest;
  • If yes, then you have a list of the awards settings that you need to fill in.
2 Awards settings

Select the number of winners - this will bring you the corresponding places to fill in. If you select 3, this means your contest has 3 awards. For each award you need to fill in what type is the award: Cash, Growing Cash, Product/Service or WINGS;

  • - For Cash award: fill in the amount and select the currency from the drop-down menu.
  • - For WINGS award: fill in the amount
  • - For product/ service award: fill in the name of the award, the approximate value, description of the award and you can add product image and/or link to the award.
  • If on Step 1, you have selected that there will be entry fee, the option Growing Cash will be available for you. You can offer guaranteed award in euro + per cent of the entry fees as bonus award.
  • - If you are creating a contest on both laguages, fill in the name and the description of teh product/ service award in both languages

After that you go to the group awards which mean that you need to select if there will be repetitive awards for a few places. If yes, then you fill in the places and the award (award in the same method as above mentioned).

3 Now you are ready to Save & Go

After that you need to wait a few hours for the VOUBS admin to accept your contest. Only after the confirmation of the admin, the contest will be LIVE on the website.

If there are any awards, you will be asked to transfer them to the VOUBS account as the platform guarantees to all the participants the awards.

1 Go to your contest

Easiest way to go you your contest is to click on the ‘Contest’ icon: It is on the same line as the wallet and profile picture.

Then you need to select the first tab: ‘Administrator’. You will see all of your contest listed there. On the next tab you will the the contests in which you are jury, the last tab - where you have joined.

2 Manage as organizer

As organizer you might need to edit the contest.

Open your contest page -> Click ‘Options’ -> From the Drop-down menu select ‘Edit Contest’. You will have to go through all the steps of the contest and correct the necessary info.

Remember to do the corrections needed before the start of the contest! Once the contest has started you can only change the description, add media types & add jury members

3 Manage as administrator

As administrator you need to accept/ decline the media which participants submit.

Go to the contest -> Click ‘Options’ -> From the Drop-down menu select ‘Entries Management’.

On the left menu you will see list of your contests grouped depending if they are open for registration, coming soon or completed. In the middle, you will have ‘Media Index’.

To see a preview of the media -> Click on the thumbnail image.

To accept/ decline a media -> Put the pointer on the media’s thumbnail & click accept/ decline from the menu that will appear.

4 Manage as jury

Don’t forget to vote if you are jury member.

Go to your contest -> Select entries -> Go through all the entries and give your vote

5 Manage the end of the contest

You have nothing to worry about. Awards will be automatically paid. But if your contest doesn’t have 20 or more entries, it might be either extended or cancelled by VOUBS administrator.
