Pakistan has been facing the cutting of trees for a long time over the past few years for the purpose of furniture and building material. In 2014, the recent Prime Minister of Pakistan launched a Program named "Billion Trees Tsunami", in which he aimed to plant around 1 Billion Trees in the country. While benefiting the environment, the project has established a network of private tree nurseries, which have boosted local incomes and generated green jobs, including for unemployed young people and women in the province. The new trees will reinvigorate the area’s scenic beauty, act as a control against erosion, help mitigate climate change, decrease the chances of floods and increase the chances of precipitation. This video was shot and edited by me in order to raise awareness towards the deforestation and planting New Tree while urbanizing at the same time as well. Hoping to lead Pakistan into a prosperous and green future, we need more of these initiatives.
